Prof Okolo graduated from the University of Nigeria with a distinction and the Gold Medal University prize in medicine and surgery. He has trained in clinical genetics and internal medicine at the Indiana University Medical Centre in Indianapolis US Prof P. Okolo then completed his training in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Following his fellowship, he undertook advanced training in therapeutic endoscopy at Johns Hopkins. Prof Okolo also graduated from the Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Carey Business School at John Hopkins with additional qualifications in Public Health and Epidemiology and Business of Medicine. After a decade as Chief of endoscopy at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Prof. Patrick Okolo joined the faculty of the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine and became a Professor with clinical interests in all aspects of therapeutic endoscopy, resectional therapies, para-bariatric syndromes and small bowel disorders.His clinical research interest centre’s around areas of his clinical expertise, including adult and paediatric ERCP, novel endoluminal interventions, resectional therapies, small bowel enteroscopy, including metabolic and weight loss interventions and altered anatomy ERCP.
